Tarun Tejpal moves SC against 10-yr sentence; notice issued to Goa

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Goa government on a petition filed by former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal challenging the Bombay High Court judgment sentencing him to 10 years' imprisonment in a 2013 rape case involving a colleague. A bench comprising Justices MM Sundresh and Prasanna B Varale heard the matter. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Tejpal, submitted that the High Court had reversed his acquittal.
