Jantar Mantar de-notified as protest site; 3 new venues designated

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Jantar Mantar has been officially de-notified as a designated protest site, while venues including Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in East Delhi have been designated for organizing protests and demonstrations. The Ministry of Home Affairs had constituted a committee to identify suitable alternative venues for protests and demonstrations, ensuring citizens' right to assemble and express dissent. Based on the committee's recommendations, Jantar Mantar was de-notified as a designated protest site. Delhi Police Commissioner issued a standing order to this effect on October 11.
