Education Ministry reviews scholarship scheme, sets October 31 deadline for NMMSS applications

New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) The union Ministry of Education has emphasised timely registration and verification of applications under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the academic year 2026-27, setting October 31 as the deadline for fresh applications. The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) organised a regional orientation-cum-review workshop in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on October 14 to assess the implementation of the scheme, address operational challenges and improve the verification and disbursement process through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
