Bengali film actress Mithu Mukherjee dead

Mumbai/Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) Yesteryear's Bengali actress Mithu Mukherjee, who combined raw physical appeal with a sweet face and graceful performances, died at a private hospital here following a prolonged battle with cancer, hospital and film industry sources said on Monday. Mukherjee, 71, breathed her last on Sunday night. Born in Kolkata on June 19, 1955, she had been undergoing treatment for cancer for nearly a year. Debuting in the Bengali film industry as a teenager with Chitta Bose's Shesh Parba in 1971, Mukherjee acted in over 20 films during a comparatively short film career spanning less than two decades.…
