Hande Erçel to front Germany-set drama 'Diaspora'

Berlin, Oct 8 (UNI) Turkish actor Hande Erçel has been cast as the lead in Iranian filmmaker Nader Saeivar's upcoming drama "Diaspora", which is set in Germany and is scheduled to begin filming in early 2027. Erçel will play Merve, a middle-class Turkish woman who moves to Germany with her 12-year-old son after the death of her husband in Turkey. The film centres on their attempt to begin again while adapting to life in a new country. Saeivar has written and will direct the film.
