Deep depression likely to cross south Odisha coast; red, orange warnings in 11 districts

Bhubaneswar: Sep 22 (UNI) A depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a deep depression and cross the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast by early September 24, with IMD sounding red and orange warnings across 11 Odisha districts, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday. The system, moving westwards at a speed of 18 kmph over the past six hours, lay centred over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal at 8.30 am, about 200 km southeast of Gopalpur and 210 km south of Puri, the IMD said.
