Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Odisha as deep depression weakens

Bhubaneswar, Sep 24 (UNI) The deep depression that crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast early Thursday has moved inland and is likely to weaken into a depression by Thursday evening, even as heavy rain triggered localised disruptions in several parts of southern and western Odisha. The system crossed the coast near southwest of Kalingapatnam between 11 pm on Wednesday and 1 am on Thursday, packing sustained winds of 55-65 kmph and gusts of up to 75 kmph.
