Doppler radar to strengthen disaster management, weather forecasting in Odisha: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday said the newly inaugurated Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) in Sambalpur would significantly strengthen the state's weather forecasting and disaster management capabilities and help protect lives, property and irrigation systems. Inaugurating the state-of-the-art 'Make in India' Doppler Weather Radar in Sambalpur, Majhi said the facility, described as the country's 51st Doppler radar, had special regional significance and would bring a large part of Odisha under an advanced weather forecasting system.
