Bihar alerts officials as Gandak, Kosi Barrages face rising water pressure

Patna, Sep 25 (UNI) The Bihar Water Resources Department has directed officials and field personnel to maintain heightened vigilance at night in view of the possibility of increased water pressure at the Gandak and Kosi barrages following continuous rainfall in the catchment areas of Nepal. According to an alert issued by the department, an estimated 3,81,638 cusecs of water is expected to reach the Gandak Barrage by midnight on September 27, while around 3,53,407 cusecs is forecast to reach the Kosi Barrage by 6 am on September 26.
