Bengal: Vidyasagar University launches first GPS-aided radiosonde with ISRO to improve storm forecasts

Midnapore, Oct 11 (UNI) Vidyasagar University launched its first high-altitude GPS-aided radiosonde in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), marking a significant step towards improving severe storm forecasts over south Bengal and enhancing the accuracy of satellite-based weather data. The radiosonde was launched from the university campus at 1.22 pm on Sunday and transmitted atmospheric observations in real time to a ground control station.
