Calcutta High Court grants interim bail to Sabyasachi Dutta ahead of Durga Puja

Kolkata, October 13 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday granted interim bail to former councillor and MLA Sabyasachi Dutta in an extortion case, raising the possibility of his release from prison ahead of Durga Puja. Dutta was arrested on June 8 in connection with an alleged extortion attempt dating back to 2018. The charge against him was that individuals acting on his behalf had demanded Rs 1 crore from a local businessman.
