ECoR surpasses 100 MT freight unloading mark, first among railway zones

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has become the first railway zone in the country to cross the 100 million tonne (MT) mark in freight unloading in the current financial year, achieving the milestone 17 days ahead of the corresponding period last year, officials said on Wednesday. ECoR recorded 9.8 per cent growth in freight release tonnage over the corresponding period of 2025-26, with improved wagon handling and faster release of freight rakes contributing to the performance.
