Sikkim: Tunnel panel stresses safety measures for NHPC project in Soreng

Gangtok, Oct 7 (UNI) The Tunnel Monitoring Committee conducted a joint inspection of the Racey Road Tunnel at Racey in Sikkim's Soreng district on Wednesday to assess its structural condition, maintenance requirements, restoration needs and safety measures, particularly in connection with the NHPC's Rangit Stage IV Hydroelectric Project. The committee sought a detailed assessment from NHPC officials regarding the structural condition of the tunnel, ongoing and remaining works, maintenance and restoration requirements and other safety-related issues.
