Tripura to invest Rs 100 cr for restoration of flood-damaged Dumboor hydropower plant

Agartala, Oct 10 (UNI) Tripura plans to invest around Rs 100 crore to restore and modernise its only hydroelectric power station at Dumboor in Gomati district, which suffered extensive damage during the devastating floods of 2024, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said. The state government has engaged the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) to assess the plant's rehabilitation and modernisation requirements, with work expected to begin in December 2026, subject to the completion of technical assessments and preparatory work.
