Naveen seeks CEC resignation, calls for fresh review of SIR exercise

Bhubaneswar, Sep 25 (UNI) Odisha Leader of Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Friday demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing "sharp differences" among members of the Election Commission, and called for a thorough review of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. "The CEC should immediately resign and the whole SIR process should be thoroughly revisited," Patnaik said, reiterating the BJD's opposition to the exercise from the outset.
