Tripura HC replaces jail term with Rs 8,000 fine for rash, negligent driving

Agartala, Oct 11 (UNI) The High Court of Tripura has upheld a man's conviction for rash and negligent driving but replaced his imprisonment with a fine of Rs 8,000 in a case involving a collision with the official vehicle of the then Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Udaipur. Justice Biswajit Palit passed the order while deciding a criminal revision petition filed by Arjun Sarkar, a resident of Matabari in Gomati district, challenging the sentence upheld by the Sessions Court.
