Calcutta High Court seeks petitioners' stand on EVMs ahead of Kolkata, Howrah civic polls

Kolkata, Oct 6 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday sought the views of petitioners in several pending public interest litigations before deciding whether EVMs kept in custody under earlier court orders can be used for the upcoming Kolkata and Howrah municipal elections. The West Bengal State Election Commission has approached the court after finding that it does not have enough EVMs to conduct the civic polls.
