Flood situation improves as major rivers recede, vigil maintained

Patna, Oct 7 (UNI) The flood situation in Bihar showed signs of improvement on Wednesday as water levels in most major rivers continued to recede, though the Ganga, Gandak, Burhi Gandak and Kosi remained above the danger mark at several locations, prompting authorities to maintain close vigil. According to the Water Resources Department's bulletin, the Gandak was flowing at 62.24 metres at Dumariaghat in Gopalganj, marginally above the danger level of 62.22 metres.
