Meghalaya: Tura Medical College faces faculty shortage

Tura, Oct 9 (UNI) Faculty shortages have delayed the first academic session at Tura Medical College in Meghalaya, despite the project being 84 per cent physically complete, an official said Friday. Commissioner and Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Joram Beda, recently reviewed the college's operationalisation status and identified the faculty shortage as the main obstacle. "Despite earnest and sustained efforts, the operationalisation of the college continues to be held back by a severe shortage of qualified teaching faculty," the health official said.
