Nearly 10,000 dropouts set to sit for Class 10 exams in Meghalaya

Shillong, Sep 30 (UNI) Nearly 10,000 school dropouts in Meghalaya have registered as private candidates for the upcoming Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations, an official said on Wednesday. The mass enrollment comes under the state government's ambitious Second Chance Learning Programme (SCLP), designed to provide former students with a crucial pathway to return to academia and complete their Class 10 education. "As many as 9,767 school dropouts across Meghalaya have registered as private candidates for the upcoming SSLC examination under the SCLP," Macdonald Marbaniang, Director of the Shillong Regional Office of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), said.…
