Odisha to draft lightning safety SOP, 2027 action plan at national workshop

Bhubaneswar, Oct 14 (UNI) Odisha will formulate a draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for lightning safety and a comprehensive action plan for 2027 at a two-day national workshop beginning here on Thursday, aimed at reducing lightning-related deaths and strengthening community-level preparedness. The key outcome of the workshop will be the proposed "Lightning-Safe Odisha: 2027 Action Plan and 2027-2030 Roadmap", designed to ensure coordinated action in forecasting, risk reduction, public awareness, early warning dissemination and emergency response.
