Heavy rain disrupts rail services in Odisha: 9 trains cancelled, 14 diverted

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29 (UNI) Flooding in the Ichchapuram-Jhadupudi section of East Coast Railway's Visakhapatnam Division has disrupted train services, prompting the cancellation of nine trains and diversion of 14 others on Thursday. The disruption followed heavy rainfall of around 550 mm in parts of Ganjam district under the influence of cyclonic storm Arnab, causing the Bahuda river to swell and water levels at Baghalati reservoir and railway bridges Nos. 631/01 and 630/01 to rise above the danger mark.
