By Manas Banerjee Siliguri, Sep 18 (UNI) For many visitors to Gorumara National Park, Vishwakarma Puja is not complete without catching a glimpse of Madhuri, the trained elephant whose dance has become one of the festival's biggest attractions. Madhuri is one of the nine adult elephants kept at the elephant camp, locally known as a pilkhana, at Gorumara. She is a trained female elephant, locally called a 'kunki', and is among the most popular elephants in the forest, particularly for her dancing.
