Bengal: Undertrial "fake doctor" dies in Baruipur hospital, wife alleges custodial torture

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) A 44-year-old undertrial prisoner, who was arrested on charges of using unauthorised medical degrees, died at Baruipur Sub-Divisional Hospital on Tuesday morning, triggering allegations of custodial torture by his wife and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death. The deceased, Basudeb Naskar, a resident of Betberia in Baruipur, had been arrested a few days ago along with two others on charges of practising medicine without valid certificates.
