Odisha: Vigilance unearths crores in assets, arrests senior officer

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10 (UNI) Odisha Vigilance today arrested Prasanna Kumar Patra, Deputy Director of Soil Conservation-cum-Project Director, Watershed, Sundargarh, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets (DA) amounting to 204 per cent of his known sources of income. Patra was forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh, after he allegedly failed to satisfactorily account for the assets unearthed during searches, the Vigilance said. The assets detected in the name of Patra and his family members include four double-storey buildings and a three-bedroom flat in Bhubaneswar, seven high-value plots on the city's outskirts and an advance payment of Rs 29.50…
