Bihar to constitute mining police force to curb illegal mining, sand and stone smuggling

Aurangabad, Oct 5 ( UNI) Bihar Mines and Geology and Art and Culture Minister Dr Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi on Monday announced to constitute a dedicated mining police force to check illegal mining and curb the smuggling of sand, stone and other minerals in the state. Chandravanshi told news persons here that the formation of the mining police would expedite raids, investigations and arrests in cases related to illegal mining and violations of mining rules. At present, police personnel are assigned multiple responsibilities, resulting in delays in making a force available for action by the Mining and Geology Department, he said.…
