Bidhannagar police bans laser lights around Kolkata airport during Durga Puja

Kolkata, Oct 7 (UNI) The Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, which has jurisdiction around the Kolkata airport, has banned the use of laser lights at Durga Puja pandals, drawing on past incidents in which beams disrupted the functioning of pilots during aircraft landing approaches. The ban was announced at the Durga Puja Co-ordination Meeting held at the New Town Convention Centre on Wednesday evening that was attended by organisers of about 1,001 pujas under the commissionerate.
