ICAR-CIWA provides women-friendly coconut dehusking machines to farmers in Puri

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (UNI) The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar, has provided 50 pedal-operated, women-friendly coconut dehusking machines to 170 women farmers, Women Farmer Producer Organisation (WFPO) members and local women leaders from 22 villages under 12 gram panchayats in Pipili block of Puri district. The initiative, aimed at reducing drudgery and improving work efficiency among women engaged in agriculture and allied activities, is expected to benefit more than 300 women farmers, particularly those belonging to marginalised and Scheduled Caste farming communities.
