Jharkhand: Youth Congress protests, seeks CEC's resignation

Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) Youth Congress workers today staged a protest outside the Chief Electoral Officer's office here, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The protesters alleged that names of a large number of voters were being deleted from electoral rolls through the SIR process and raised slogans demanding Kumar's resignation. Led by Ranchi Mahanagar Youth Congress president Gaurav Singh, the protesters tried to enter the CEO's office by opening the gate. Police had put up barricades to prevent their entry, leading to a confrontation between the protesters…
