Bengal: Bridge brings relief to flood-hit Bhutni as fresh erosion triggers panic in Malda

Siliguri, Oct 16 (UNI) A temporary bridge opened in flood-ravaged Bhutni to restore connectivity ahead of Durga Puja, while fresh erosion along the Ganga at Panchanandapur has triggered fresh panic among residents, presenting two contrasting pictures of the river's impact in Malda. On Panchami, a day before the main Puja festivities began, Manikchak MLA Gour Chandra Mondal inspected the newly constructed temporary bridge near the flattened embankment at Dakshin Chandipur in Bhutni.
