Rural-urban convergence: BMC to collect dry waste from 31 gram panchayats

Bhubaneswar,Oct 2 (UNI) The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will undertake collection and transportation of dry waste from 31 gram panchayats across four blocks of Khurda district under the State Government's Rural-Urban Convergence initiative. The panchayats in Bhubaneswar, Jatani, Balipatna and Balianta blocks have been tagged with the BMC for transportation of dry and recyclable waste to its designated Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs). The civic body will deploy seven Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) to collect waste from designated points in the panchayats and transport it to the MRFs for segregation, material recovery and recycling.
