Punjab ranks third nationally in voluntary blood donation per million population

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Punjab has secured third position in India in voluntary blood donation per million population based on 2025 data recorded on the union government's e-RaktKosh portal, the state government said. Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh said 5,44,167 units of blood were collected across the state through 6,583 donation camps during 2025-26. About 92 per cent of the state's overall blood collection was voluntary, while the share at government blood centres stood at 99.6 per cent, according to the government.
