Coconut dehusking made easier for women farmers in Puri

Bhubaneswar, Sep 22 (UNI) The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar, distributed 50 pedal-operated, women-friendly coconut dehusking machines among 170 women farmers, members of women farmer producer organisations and local leaders from 22 villages in Puri district. The machines were distributed across 12 Gram Panchayats of Pipili block and are expected to benefit more than 300 women farmers, particularly from underprivileged and Scheduled Caste communities. They are designed to ease the physical strain of coconut dehusking and improve productivity and work efficiency.
