Mizoram's MTP lifts trade embargo on Myanmar border

Aizawl, Sep 24 (UNI) The Mara Thyutlia Py (MTP), the largest civil society organisation in south Mizoram's Siaha district, has decided to resume unregulated border trade with Myanmar from Thursday afternoon, ending a week-long suspension imposed after a confrontation between Myanmar traders and MTP volunteers at Khaikhy village. The MTP executive committee, meeting at its general headquarters in Siaha on Thursday, resolved to lift the embargo on trading activities with Myanmar's Rakhine and southern Chin states from 4 pm.
