Maha: Beed girl gets medical college seat after HC intervention over disability assessment

Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) An 18-year-old visually-impaired student from Beed district has secured admission to the MBBS course at Government Medical College, Sangli Miraj, following intervention by the Bombay High Court's Aurangabad Bench after a medical assessment board initially declared her ineligible to pursue medical education. Syed Musfira Fatema Rafiuddin, who has a benchmark visual disability associated with congenital low vision, albinism, nystagmus and amblyopia, had qualified the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate examination in 2026.
