AP: Meenakshi energy marks sustainability milestone with single-use plastic-free certification

Vijayawada, Oct 13 (UNI) Meenakshi Energy Limited (MEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Vedanta Power Limited, has received a sustainability milestone Single-Use Plastic-Free certification from Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS) for its 1,000 MW facility in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The certification recognises MEL's plant-wide efforts to eliminate single-use plastics, strengthen waste segregation and recycling, and embed responsible resource consumption across its operations. The certification follows the implementation of a plant-wide ban on single-use plastics across all operations, including administrative, food service and procurement functions, a release stated.
