Telangana is top Start-up destination in country, says Jayesh Ranjan

Hyderabad, Nov 27 (UNI) Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce (I&C) & IT, Government of Telangana on Saturday said that the State is the top Start-up destination in the country.
CII in association with Government of Telangana organised a Session on Startups: Telangana as Start-up Destination – Growth Story today on virtual platform.
Addressing the Inaugural Session, Mr Jayesh Ranjan highlighted on how Telangana has emerged as top destination for Start-ups and currently about 400 start-ups are functioning in the state.
Telangana Government’s proactive policies and current ecosystem are great boon to the start- ups and highest preference is being given by the State Government to also avail the relevant services offered by the start ups.
He urged industry also to give preference to Start-ups in availing the relevant solutions. While speaking about funding, he suggested micro analysis of funding system for Start-up.
He further opined the need to nurture seed of innovation and entrepreneurship in rural areas to make the startup ecosystem more inclusive.
He complimented CII for organizing Startup – Corporate Connect initiative under ICONN 2021.
Mr Srinivas Rao Mahankali, CEO, T-Hub, in his special address spoke as how T-Hub is creating a world class ecosystem within the country that supports and nurtures entrepreneurship and innovation.
Mr Anubhav Kumar Das, Investment Specialist from Invest India briefed participants about the Startup India Initiatives and the role of Central Government.
Mr Raja Gayam, CEO, Gayam Motor Works spoke about all the support he has received from Government of Telangana while being part of the T-Hub as an incubatee.
He was quick to point out how he could connect with Uber Leadership during their visit to T-Hub and converted it into a business opportunity.
Mr Sriram Subramanya, Chairman, CII SR Start-ups & Entrepreneurship Forum and Founder, MD & CEO, Integra Software Services while sharing statistics said that India has third largest startup ecosystem in the world with about 6 startups being formed every single day.
There has been 16 fold increase in Startups formed in last seven years. He also said that he is very optimistic about Telangana as it has one of the best start-up ecosystem in the country.
While talking about CII initiatives, Mr Sriram said that CII has launched a Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Start-ups (CIES) in partnership with Government of Telangana in Hyderabad in 2020.
