EU Foreign Ministers may discuss sanctions against Iran on Tuesday

Brussels, April 15 (UNI) The EU foreign ministers may discuss sanctions targeting Iran during a virtual meeting on April 16, EU foreign policy spokesperson Peter Stano said on Monday.
On Sunday, European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen said that the bloc will consider piling more sanctions on Iran as it seeks to limit the Islamic Republic’s drone and missile capabilities after the attack on Israel.
"The FAC [Foreign Affairs Council] tomorrow is also intended to discuss issues such as what would be the next steps by the European Union and its member states to react to this latest escalation by Iran, so this is what I can say on the issue of sanctions," Stano told reporters.
