Day temp above normal at many places over Gangetic West Bengal

Pune, Apr 20 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated pockets over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over, east Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand; at a few places over Kerala and Mahe, south interior Karnataka, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, east Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places Assam and Meghalaya, west Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch and near normal over the rest of the country.
Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 44.3°C was reported at Nandyal (Rayalaseema) and Boudh (Odisha) over the country.
