Day temp above normal at few places over J&K and Ladakh

Pune, April 9 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Punjab; at many places over West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Gujarat state. These were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at a few places over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.5°C was reported at Nandyal (Rayalaseema) over the country.

Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
