Day temperatures above normal over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha

Pune, Apr 6 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Rayalaseema; at isolated places over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Punjab and Jharkhand; at many places over Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada and Kerala and Mahe; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam and Meghalaya, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over east Rajasthan and Gujarat Region and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Nandyal (Rayalaseema) over the country.
Yesterday, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Odisha and heatwave conditions in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand.
