Jaunpur (UP), April 27 (UNI) Former MP and strongman leader Dhananjay Singh, who was sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a special court was shifted to Bareilly District jail from Jaunpur jail amidst tight security arrangement on Saturday, official sources said here.
Official sources said that former MP Dhananjay Singh was sentenced to seven years in the case of threatening and kidnapping a government employee by the Additional District Sessions Judge Sharad Kumar Tripathi and since then he was lodged in the district jail. "The district administration had given him permission to transfer him to Bareilly jail after which he was shifted this morning amid tight security," they said.
It may be noted that Shrikala Singh, who is wife of former MP Dhananjay Singh's wife and is Zila Panchayat president, is contesting Lok Sabha elections on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket.
