Massive recruitment going on despite poll restrictions in Manipur: Congress

Imphal, April 8 (UNI) The Manipur Congress party has alleged that recruitment processes in various state government departments violate the election code of conduct. Congress President K. Meghachandra has submitted a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer of Manipur for the second time after the beginning of the polling process.
Meghachandra said appropriate and necessary legal action should be taken against the officials and authorities involved in the notifications, advertisements, and recruitment process for violation of the Election Model Code of Conduct. He informed that the Election Commission of India as well as the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, have already issued Election Model Code of Conduct in connection with the 18 Lok Sabha Election 2024; however, large numbers of notifications were issued.
The Congress party gave a list of 13 cases of poll violations. The process of the form submissions of the above notifications is continuing in all the employment exchanges by violating the model code of conduct, as was alleged. He further said the Legal Department of the Congress Party had submitted an application regarding the same matter on April 2, 2024, but no action has been taken against the authorities so far, he added.
