Miscreants hurls petrol bomb at police station in Meghalaya

Shillong, Apr 3 (UNI) Five unidentified miscreants hurled a petrol bomb on a police vehicle parked inside Mawlai police station here in Meghalaya in the early hours of Wednesday. No one was injured in the attack, police said.
The incident came close in the heels of the arrest of two activists of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) in connection with the murder of two non-tribal persons - Sujit Dutta and Ishan Singh – at Ichamati village along the India-Bangladesh border on March 27.
The unidentified miscreants, police said, entered the parking campus of Mawlai Police station and hurled a petrol bomb on the police gypsy vehicle bearing registration number ML02-0194 as a result of which the vehicle caught fire and suffered major damage.
