Srinagar Dec 5 (UNI) Major General Abhijit S Pendharkar took over as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the elite Vajr Division of the India Army, here on Sunday.
A defence spokesman Col Emron Musavi said Major General Abhijit S Pendharkar took over as GOC of the elite Vajr Division from Major General Krishnan, who moved to the prestigious appointment of Commandant, Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare School, Vairengte.
Maj Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, was commissioned on June 9, 1990 from IMA, Dehradun into the 6th Battalion of the Assam Regiment.
