LS Poll-related seizure in Telangana crosses Rs 104 Cr in 13-days

Hyderabad, April 28 (UNI) The Telangana police, during its enforcement drive to implement the Model Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha elections, seized Rs. 104.18 crores worth of cash, liquor, precious metals, narcotics, drugs, and freebies from April 16, 2024, in the state.
The elections to the 17 Lok Sabha seats will be held on May 13, 2024, in the state.
Ever since MCC came into effect, the state police, in coordination with the election authorities, have formed 477 flying squads and set up 89 state internal border checkposts, besides mobile parties of local police, to curb illegal transportation of cash, metals, liquor, drugs, and freebies, a release from the state DGP office said here on Sunday.

In the first case Rongala Simhachalam (70) used her voting right at booth number 41 of A. Mallavaram village of Peddapuram sub division but on reaching home collapsed at the entrance and breathed her last.

Kerala: Two fishermen killed after cargo ship hits boat
