Etawah MP Katheria's wife files nomination against her husband

Etawah (UP), April 24 (UNI) In an interesting turn of events, Mridula Katheria, wife of sitting and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Etawah seat Prof Ram Ram Shankar Katheria, filed a nomination for the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate.
District Returning Officer (RO) Avanish Rai said that Mridula Katheria filed her nomination as an independent candidate around 1 p.m. It may be noted that Mridula filed a nomination against her husband in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls but withdrew later.
After filing the nomination, Mridula said that there is democracy in the country and everyone is free here. "Anyone can contest elections here. I am contesting against my husband. This is an election, and everyone is free to contest here," she said.
