Congress doesn’t have the capability to take on BJP: Meghalaya TMC president

Shillong, Dec 1 (UNI) Newly elected President of the All India Trinamool Congress, Charles Pyngrope on Wednesday said, Congress "doesn’t have the capability to take on the BJP" for the next 10 years as the party has "almost given up hope" at the present moment.
“The Congress has no wherewithal to take on the BJP, but the TMC has shown ample capabilities to take on the BJP. The TMC defeated the BJP by a huge margin, it literally overran the BJP in West Bengal,” Pyngrope, who was among the 12 rebel Congress legislators, who joined the TMC, told UNI.
“The Congress doesn’t have the capability to be a strong opposition at the moment and in a democracy a weak opposition is dangerous and the ruling party then can take decisions at will. Congress has almost given up hope,” the former Meghalaya Assembly Speaker said.
