BJP not against caste census: Laxman

Hyderabad, April 27 (UNI) BJP OBC Morcha National president and MP K Laxman on Saturday said his party was not against any caste census but it needs a ‘thorough and scientific study.
There has been a demand for caste-based census for a long time, he noted but posed why the Congress since 1931 did not take any initiative on it.
"Though they (Congress) have taken up census in certain states, why not publish the data, particularly in Karnataka, after spending so much money on it", he questioned and said even the previous BRS government in Telangana had taken up the exercise.
