Anju Bobby George named 'Woman of the Year' at World Athletics Awards 2021

Monaco, Dec 2 (UNI) India's Anju Bobby George was crowned as the Woman of the Year at the World Athletics Awards 2021, a ceremony held virtually on December 1.
The former international long jump star, who made history when she won the bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics, has been actively involved in the sport.
"Truly humbled and honoured to be awarded Woman of the Year by @WorldAthletics. There is no better feeling than to wake up everyday and give back to the sport, allowing it to enable and empower young girls! Thank you for recognising my efforts," the 44-year-old tweeted.
